looking for meets on the east coast

Unread postby pvboy » Mon Apr 04, 2005 9:03 am

Hi,

We are a groupe of vaulters from Sherbrooke Québec Canada. Because of a shortage of meets during the summer, we are looking for meets in the States, between the 20th of June and the 14th of July.

We are 4 guys; two over 5,10, one at 4,60, and the other one at 4,00m.
there is also three girls one a 3,8, one at 3,3, and the last one at 3,00m

We would like to know if it is possible to compete in your region. If yes, under which conditions. We are interested to jump as well as in official as in twilight meets or demonstration meets.

If there is any other meet you are aware of and where we could go to, could you please let me know.

thanks for your time.
Have a nice day.

René Gauthier

These are some cool ones that I know of this summer. I know Michigan and Arkansas are not so far east, but its the best I've got.

June 4 Wrightsville Beach Vault, North Carolina

I don't know if I will be able to afford it. If I can, I will be there. Plus, I was just looking at the website and it says that it is on the 25th of June. I was told that it is on the 4th of June. The 25th is the same weekend as the USA championships.

Oh, I thought that you meant the one in NC. No I don't think that I will be able to make the one in MI, because I have another meet that weekend. Sorry

I don't know how far east you are willing to go but every tuesday except for the week of the 4th of July, RIT(Rochester Institute of Technology) hosts track meets that cost like around 5 bucks to compete in and most of the time the heights at the meet are between 14ft to 15-4 (4.26-4.65) for the top guys the record for these meets is 16ft, girls are around 3.05m I don't know the girls record. you can go to www.gvh.net to check it out, I try to go every week since thats the only time I can jump in the summer. To warn you though is Rochester can have an 80 degree day on Monday and be bad rain in the low 50' the next.

You might have to be a member of USATF to compete but these are mostly in New England.
