I know this information is getting out a bit late but better than not at all. Just wanted to get some information out to anyone that might be interested in having their vaulters jump at a low key competition on Wednesday night of August 15th at Centennial High School in Gresham(Portland) Oregon. We will be holding the first ever Centennial Twilight Vault Competition. There are two main reasons why we are trying to do this. We want to do this in honor of the previous pole vault coach here at Centennial (Zach Hamilton) who died in a car accident earlier this year, and also to give everyone's vaulters the opportunity to have a fun end of the summer competition under the stars.

We want this to be as enjoyable as possible. We are going to turn on the stadium lights, have music going the whole time, and I'm thinking about having some hotdogs for everyone. If you or your pole vault coaches want to help out with anything that would be FANTASTIC! Feel free to bring a crowd of spectators too.

Competition starts at 6:00pm so you might want to get there early to get in warm up jumps. Boys and girls will be jumping together. Because this is the first time for this meet and we don't know how many athletes to expect, the schedule will depend on how many vaulters we have show up. If we have a lot of vaulters we will be doing a rolling schedule starting at 5ft and stop every three feet to let vaulters that are coming in to take warm up jumps(8ft, 11ft, 14ft, etc) and we may start a little sooner if need be. If we don't have too many, then we can break up the vaulters into groups by height starting with the beginner vaulters up to the advanced ones.

USATF Membership numbers are required to compete. Waiver forms will need to be filled out when you get there, but remember minors need a parent signature. $10 per athlete to jump.

This is an all-comers competition too, so this is open to vaulters of all ages and levels. So if you know anyone that vaults or if the vault coaches want to jump they can, provided they have a USATF membership.

Parking: Entering from 182nd just drive to the west side of campus and there will be a gate that is open. Drive through it past the tennis courts and you will see the track, there is parking by the covered stands. If that area becomes too packed then just park by the gate, its not that far.

Hope to see you there!
