Unread postby pvpole » Mon Oct 25, 2004 1:23 am

THIS MEET IN FEB. SEEMS TO BE A HASSLE FOR POLE VAULTERS. THE ONLY FLIGHTS INTO POCATELLO FROM CALIFORNIA ARE DELTA. DELTA DONT CARRY POLES. SO SEEMS LIKE I MUST GO INTO SALT LAKE CITY AND RENT A SUV 4X4 BECAUSE OF WINTER SNOW AND TRAVEL 2 HOURS BY CAR? HOW DO OTHER VAULTS MAKE THIS TRIP AND KEEP THE COST DOWN?

Fly into Salt Lake, skip the 4x4, the roads are not that bad unless there is a major storm and then you don't want to be on them even in a SUV. It is a great meet.

it is not a bad drive from SLC to Pocatello. i am from CA and i go to school at ISU so when i want to go home i travel from the SLC airport home and Barto is right for a high schooler this meet is well worth it. the crowds are good, the competition is good, our facility is good, and our runway is super fast. i know because i helped build it.
