It's time to find out just how much your "track game" has improved - or suffered - since high school. For first-timers, discover an untapped talent or simply come to experience the lively track meet atmosphere.

The Crook County High School track and field team will host and participate in a community track meet on Saturday at the Ward Rhoden Stadium in Prineville, with check-in at 3 p.m. and events starting at 3:30 p.m. Any parent, alumni or community member is welcome, and no skills are required to compete.

Events will include the 100-, 200-, 400-, 800-, 1,500- and 3,000-meter runs; the 110- and 300-meter hurdles; the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays; and the high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, javelin, long jump and triple jump events. A blue/gold luau with kabobs, rice, salad and dessert will follow the meet at 5 p.m.

There is no cost to compete in the track meet. Cost of the luau is $5 per ticket or $15 for a family of four.

To register or for more information, contact Ernie Brooks, Crook County's head track coach, at 416-9180 or e-mail ernie-brooks@crookcounty.k12.or.us.
