Unread postby Ins0mnizac » Mon Mar 01, 2004 10:16 pm

I can only jump in my gym because of the crappy weather. central new york winter. I can only do a 5-6 step runup so right now i am doing them holding low and getting my hips up i was wondering if anyone knew any other drills that could be done in my limited situation.

If you can put a bar up, see how high you can vault from 3 lefts.

Personally I do a lot of 3-4 L vaults. yes vaults. some days I work on taking off "out", some days I work on moving over the take off, some days I work on the pole drop, anything you can do from a long run (with the exception of vault on the same poles) can be done from a shorter run with the appropriate pole in hand.
...success is doing what you can do well and doing well whatever you can do

We spend 4 months jumping off 2, 3 then 4 lefts. We start the competition season off 4 lefts in October. The Australian season runs from October to March. This gives us a chance to pick the best run for the season and do lots of jumps during training without getting too tired too quickly.[/quote]
