jumping into the pit or straight up?

jumping into the pit or straight up?

at take-off...should you...

Jump straight up

or

jump into the pit

or

somewhere inbetween

??

i've been told a couple of different methods and would like your inputs.

Think about running off the ground and into your hands above your head.

I tend to think of i as trying to slam dunk a baskeball with both hands from the free throw line>>>

i think you need to jump high, but into the pit as well
