Scared of the bar/bungee

Unread postby turkvaulterj » Sun Mar 20, 2011 1:16 pm

hi

I have a hard time getting over the bar/bungee. everyone says I am great without anything there but when the bungee gets put up: I miss the box, stutter step, bend my arms, etc. Yesterday At practice I was practicing on a different pit alone and a bungee was at 10 feet and I couldn't get it down so I put another at 4 feet and cleared it 4 or 5 times(4 feet). I think the 2 bungees might have given me a "target", does that make sense

Use a pacer mystic that is 95 11 feet long
5 feet tall, 92 lbs
13 years old vaulting for 2 weeks
Standards at 20 inches
Grip around 7'6''

Any help would be great!!!

Just jump at 4' bar for a week and then progressively increase it by 6" - that will work - unless you have chosen the wrong event!

Try that in the sand pit too to help with the stuttering.
