The polevault run is different than an all out sprint. Your obviously carrying a pole so it must be controlled. To counterbalance the pole you should run with good upright posture (do NOT lean forward) and high knees. Start out with long steps and then they should be getting quicker and smaller as you get closer to take off. You need to be able to run fast to get a good vault, so practice running with the pole on the track or something to train for speed.
