All for a good cause!

More of an entertainment event in a unique setting by the waterfront with a sound system lining the runway playing music throughout the comptition, an MC announcing and analyzing the event, a blazing fast elevated runway, collegiate standards and pit, a catered event with food and drink available all day for purchase, and back by popular demand LAKE VAULTING off the dock where you go for distance rather than height. The Lake Heritage Waterski Club will also be offering water skiing, wake boarding, and tubing rides throughout the day as part of their annual fundraiser.

The competition is open to pole vaulters of all ages and ability levels, beginners to masters, and a chance for spectators to get an up close perspective of this special event. Proceeds for this event will be donated to support the Lake Heritage Playground Fund.

Dave Gorman was taken from us suddenly two summers ago and this day is a tribute to a special guy who gave many years of enjoyment to the pole vault community, competiting and coaching. Several of the top Masters pole vaulters in the country that Dave jumped with will be competing this year including World record holder Gary Hunter, age 54, 15' 7".

The event will be run by your host Steve Gorman and Rob Wahl, coach at Altoona Area (PA) School District and PA State Chairperson for USATF National Development / High Performance Committee. The event will be officiated by Mike Lilly, NFHS/PIAA state pole vault official.
