Age-Is-Just-A-Number All-Comers

Lone Star PV, LLC dba Olympic Quest Athletics of New Braunfels, TX is hosting a series of indoor/outdoor field events competitions this winter. Pole Vault, Long & Triple Jump will be contested indoors at our training center, high jump and throws outdoors. The cost for each meet is $12 for one event, or $20 to compete in unlimited events.

For all field events, the Age Is Just a Number meet will feature Age-Graded scoring, using the WMA Age-Grading Calculator, which essentially means that like golf, competitors are given a handicap based on their age to level the playing field: http://www.howardgrubb.co.uk/athletics/wmalookup06.html

Additionally, in the pole vault competition, we are gender-graded. While no tables currently exist for this, based on the difference between the current men's & women's world records, NCAA men's & women's national records, & high school national records, there is an approximate 4'0 differential between men & women. Therefore, the women are spotted 4'0 on the handicap. This means that a girl vaulting 10'0 and a boy jumping 14'0 are even.

This is just a fun way to get everyone competing against each other instead of breaking it out to several classifications.
