Check us out on Facebook! Search "Marina Vault"

A day of vaulting, music, swimming, food, and friends organized as a tribute to my brother who left this planet six years ago. Dave was an incredible athlete and person, a fellow vaulter, and lover of music. We had the first Marina Vault 11 years ago and I continue to host this event in his memory. Food and drink will be available for sale all day by Hock & Smith's Find Foods and of course the ever popular "Lake Vaulting" (open to everyone) where you vault off of the dock and into Lake Heritage.

Pole Vault Competition
The event will be run by Steve Gorman (host), Rob Wahl (pole vault coach at Altoona Area High School and PA State Chairperson for the USA National Pole Vaulting Committee), and Matt Concannon (director of Vaultworx pole vaulting club). The event will be officiated by Mike Lilly a NFHS/PIAA pole vault official.

Entry fee is $30 with on-site registration beginning at 7:30AM and continuing throughout the day. No one will be allowed to participate in the event without registering and signing the liability release form. If the participant is under the age of 18, the parent and/or legal guardian MUST sign the waiver. All proceeds go to the Lake Heritage community in support of youth equipment and activities.

Marina Vault t-shirts will be for sale the day of the event. Buy early to guarantee your size!

Warm-ups begin as soon as you are registered. Competition begins promptly at 9:00AM. Starting height will be 5' 0" and the bar will move progressively upwards. Boys and girls, men and women will jump together. There will be additional warm-up periods for vaulters not starting until higher heights.

Standard rules of competition apply with one slight "home rule" exception: The Gorman Buy-In Rule. What is this you ask? After three consecutive misses you will be allowed a fourth (4th) attempt if you donate a $5.00 re-jump fee. If you clear the bar, you are back in the competition! If you miss -- you become a spectator.

NOTE
Our experience from past events is that the height progressions move slowly due to the large amount middle school and high school vaulters along with the "buy in" jumps. It will be late morning before the bar gets to 10' and mid-afternoon until we reach the 12' range. Registration runs ALL DAY so time your arrival accordingly. There will be "open runways" at different intervals throughout the day for all competitors including the "elite vault" with a starting height of 13' scheduled for between 5:00 - 6:00PM.

BRING LAWN CHAIRS, SUN SCREEN, SWIM SUITS, AND AT LEAST ONE $5 BILL!!
