I just saw Mike Clark today and the figured out whats going on here..... I dont really have anything wrong with my back, its just where i am feeling the pain. My latts and hamstrings are both very tight. This is because of a muscle imbalance between my latt being way stronger than another muscle right by it. I cant think of it right now... but anyways i think rolling on your latts with a foam roll or a baseball and stretching the hamstrings will probably help a lot of pole vaulters with back pain. especially when he talked about HOW the pole vault makes these things tight and creates imbalances.
