depending upon how bad it hurts you might want to take just a little time off to give it some rest. I hurt my hamstirng at the very begining of last week and I took the whole week off just to prevent anything from happening. I iced 3-4 times a day, went to see the trainer and heated my leg for 20 minutes with a heating pack, and then did some streching. At the begining of this week my leg feels fine and I can jump agian.

Some times you have to sacrifice things in order to prevent something major from happening. I had to sit out of the Kentucky Invite in order help my leg heal. It was hard not doing anything but I am glad that I took a little time off, it helped with my motivation too.

Hope some of this helps, best of luck!!

P.S. those rub on creams, like icyhot or something, they don't help warm the muscle up, so don't be fooled they only thing they do is relax it so don't think that is heating you up.

Get better soon, and stretch alot!!! :D

if you take some time off, wait an extra 4 or 5 days after you feel PERFECT before you come back. hamstrings have a tendency to feel healthy, but still be injured!

I don't think you should stop running completely, but you should run at a lower intensity. Run slow enough that it is not hurting.

Get a trainer or friend to stretch it as well, you'll get a better stretch that way.

the shag run, stationary bike, and swimming pool are your 3 best tools for staying active with a bum hammy.
