That was quite a gap.
What time was it on?
Still waiting to see it on the west coast...
I never met a pole I didn't like.

They showed it live on CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corp) about 7:15 PDT (Pacific Daylight Time).

What a specimen! I sure hope he's for real!!! (passes the drug tests).

Bolt, Isi - the 2 top stories of T&F!

Walker's NH is also a big story, but not a good one. :(

W 100m Hurdles and W 400m - also downers for the USA audience. But we (Canada) got a Bronze in the 100m Hurdles! (Not a big story, unless you're a Canuck like me.)

Aaaaaahhhhh! The drama of the Olympics! Anything can happen!

I am guessing it won't be on until much later tonight. Pretty sure they haven't show it on the east coast either

The sad thing is, he is far from being the biggest disappointment on the US team. Team USA is not doing too hot

And slightly connected if this story is to be believed... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/others ... tball.html
The rest of the world delights in making Bolt's acquaintance, a breath of fresh air in a sport in need of renewal. Speed is the thing. We are drawn to his achievements through some primal dimension. We cannot take our eyes off him.

On the subject of which, Bolt was dealing in just that kind of currency when he handed the flowers presented to him during the 100m medal ceremony to Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva, a stunning example of womanhood by any gauge.

The transaction was carried out in the athletes' village; the flowers intended to bring her luck. As a world-record holder who would go on to shatter her own mark en route to gold, Isinbayeva was beyond the influence of charms. You cannot fault a man for trying.

I couldn't believe they interviewed Wallace Spearmon right after he found out he had been DQ'd. Seemed very inappropriate.
