I think we have now the candidates for the european podium... and further opponents to RL...
Thanks for the news !

[for the readers of "Pole Vault - Advanced Technique" topic on this forum, how do you feel the changes in style of jumping for those young vaulters like Lisek (POL) or Barber (CAN) (in terms of low driving knee (so low COG) and early grouping (so fast toe pointing) ?...]

5.15m Grip on a 10.7.. How big is this guy? He has the same grip as Renaud and Bubka from an 8 stride. He is going to need a 5.30 pole once he gets to a full run.

A better video of the jump: http://www.leichtathletik.de/tv/video-d ... on-dessau/
From a recent pdf document found on the web: height 1.88m, weight 85kg. So basically he is Steven Hooker-like.
His coach is Wiaczesław Kaliniczenko, the same as Anna Rogowska.

For comparison of his steps/pole/grip/flex:
20 - 5 m 20 – 5 m 17 – 13,8 > Lavillenie (1.76, 70)
20 - 5 m 20 – 5 m 18 – 10,6 > Bubka (1.83, 80)
18 - 5 m 20 – 5 m 11 – 11,1 > Hooker (1.87, 85)
18 - 5 m 20 – 5 m 10 – 11,2 > Tarasov (1.94, 81)
18 - 5 m 20 – 5 m 07 – 12,0 > Markov (1.81, 80)
18 - 5 m 20 – 5 m 12 – 11,4 > Walker (1.88, 86)
20 - 4 m 80 - 4 m 70 - 12, ? > Kendricks

(source: JP Vazel's blog, I just added Sam Kendricks for fun :) )

I'm very surprised for Kendrick's performances with a so low lever !

That's an impressive jump and he appears to have room for improvement too. He'll be a top competitor.

I think Shawn Barber is holding about 5.12 as well, not sure what size pole it it.

Didn't Holzdeppe grip about 4.90 on some of his best jumps?

I'm wondering about Silke Spiegleburg and Anna Rogowska, are they still competing?

What are the big meets in Europe leading up to the European Championships. I'm looking for some head to head showdowns.

I heard rumors Shawn was on 5.30 poles!
