Yes! I agree with you on all your points made, PV-ATL!
I only learned yesterday that he spent some time training in Italy - with Petrov.
And Da Silva was one of the few vaulters that was *not* stalling out last night.
To be honest, I didn't notice that he was particularly fast - but he sure was fast enough to clear 6.03 with lots to spare, and to land well into the pit!
