easy.... hop, skip, and jump. I'm sorry I couldn't resist. It's actually a very technicall event with several phases that I cann't do correctly.

Run, take off on left foot, plant and land on and jump from right foot twice and end up as far into the sand as you can. Make sure you use the mark that is the closest to the sand the first time you try so that you WILL end up in the sand! :P
That's Jodie!!

A scripture that makes me think of all you girls and guys pole vaulting....

Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.

Practice each phase on the grass, especially the skip part. This is where you can gain or lose a significant amount of distance. Make sure that you don't try to jump your farthest on your fist jump, this will cause you next two to be a great deal shorter. Try and imagine your free leg cycling through to give you extra distance. throw your arms back as you hit the sand to extend your feet. I am a full time polevault/ long jump/ triple jumper, so I know athing or two about all three events :D I did a paper in school comparing the mechanics of the long and triple jump. :yes:

Triple jumping takes lots of coordination, but it's so much fun once you get the hang of it!! ;)

heres how ya triple jump:

1. run as fast as you can, jump with your left foot, keep your right knee up in the air.

2. when you land jump to your right foot (the first 2 jumps should be going for distance, not height, keep your 1st 2 jumps low.

3. on the third jump, go all out like the long jump, put your feet out in front of you and dont fall back into the sand.

4. once you start getting the hang of it, put your arms into it, like your winding up and punching with both fists, right before each jump.
