Fat Man Relay

Unread postby foothillsvaulter19 » Fri May 19, 2006 7:39 pm

Every now and then, our school has a fat man relay, where we take the fat guys and run em' in a 4x100, at our meets. we usually get about four other teams from other schools to participate as well. its the highlight of the meet. everyone waits for it to start. just wondering if any other schools out there do this too.

We don't have one....but, at a relay meet last year one team put all of their throwers in for the 4x400....most of them stopped to get a drink, and a few even picked up a bite to eat! :P

I saw a throwers relay where they used a shot put as a baton

Our throwers run a 4x100 and they actually came close to a qualifying time for state, it was really funny because they messed the time up and they thought they were going to go to state but they actually did come close, it was pretty funny. Especially when they were done they ate and drank till they got home.

We used to call it the Fat mans relay and any field event could participate if you did not have a running event.

I am a coach now and we call it the throwers relay. We give the winning team a cake and we take their picture... It is the event of the day!

Good times....Good times!

My school had hosted a 12 team invite yesterday where the Fat Man and Super-Fat Man were actual scoring events. There was a 4x100 for 190+ and a 4x100 for 225+. A large pepperoni stick was used for the baton and the winner of each race won a pizza. It was hilarious. Its the main attraction and the last event of the day.

We've had a "4 by fat" relay for years. One year instead of a baton the guys passed around a huge pepperoni stick and as they passed it off they took a bite...

We almost had a "half ton of fun" 4x1 relay last week but fell about 10 lbs short...

lol yeah we do the 4xFat. One meet last season we had a 4xNick b/c the four guys on the relay were all Nick's. There was the 4xJacked also... and a couple more, fun times lol. All done for the 4x100m btw.
