Leading high school results now posted on the DyeStat meet index page at:
http://www.dyestatcal.com/?pg=dyestatca ... ult-Summit

Hope to have full results, photos and story up by sunrise while my colleague Doug Speck will aim to have plenty of video coverage.

The meet ended around 9:15 p.m., slightly earlier than usual. I have a feeling the hotel casino will be pretty busy tonight!

Yes, and he almost had 17-4. Add Jack to the list of high schoolers over recent years with a very good chance of breaking Pat Manson's Indoor Record.

If they get them up in a few days, that would be a first. As I recall, it has taken them several weeks.

What was the turn out like compared to past years? The timing and the economy must have impacted attendance.

Significantly decreased attendance. Still a ton of people though.

I hear it will be later in January next year :)

Yes Greg Hull who is the mens director said that reno will be the last week of January next year

Jack Whit looked incredible out there. One thing I would like to point out about him, is that although hes not super fast yet (dont get me wrong hes not slow either), his running mechanics and posture are incredible for a high schooler. He def. has an incredible future ahead.

I also wanted to say after talking to some of the elite vaulters, that although attendance was down, we though the energy that the crowd brought for us Friday night was incredible. Even though we all know you guys missed brad and toby and derek, all of you guys and girls there did a great job of making this a really exciting event for us!!

I like to remind people too that there was once a time when people said Brad who (Walker)? Brian who (Mondschein)? I personally welcome the new up and comers with excitement. We've got a bunch of good kids coming up with long productive careers ahead of them. It reflects the depth of good coaching and athletes that are a result of events like the Pole Vault Summit. I suspect that was Paul Friedenbach (sp?)

He is only running from seven lefts with the first one a walking step. We are backing up for the next meet. I am super proud of his performance. About the only coaching I had to do was tell him to raise his grip two inches. The rest of it was saying, "Do that again"!

I guess the nasty emails I sent to UCS paid off since they are moving the date of next years Summit. I couldn't afford the airfare coming from the Chicagoland area because last weekend was considered a holiday. I was there in 2005 and it was one of the greatest events I have ever witnessed.

Hopefully, I will be bringing my best vaulters to learn and have fun.

If you traveled by plane on New Years eve the flights were alot higher. If you flew New Years day and booked well in advance like I did in Sept. and took the early flights the rates were cheaper on Southwest. The dates were not the best, but people can find a way to be there. My son did alot of fund raising. It was a great time.

On Saturday, rainbowgirl wrote that most of the Summit results were now posted on dyestatcal. I guess they are, but the display I get there is of black text on almost-black background and unreadable. Does anyone else have this problem, and have you found a way to correct it?
