Tips for getting your Vaulting Poles to the Summit!

You can use southwest airline if it is a direct flight.
Transfers rarely make it !

http://www.flyawaypoles.com 717-701-2468 is your best bet however you need to provide at least 15 days to get the poles into RENO.
Cargo is difficult so give anyone the time to get your poles there.
If you have corrugated plastic drain pipe this will protect the poles however get insurance no mater what.
If you need pipe Home Depot is your best bet or Ferguson Irrigation co.

Enjoy the Summit it is good for the sport of pole vaulting! Good luck to all!

I've never had a problem with poles making it through transfers on Southwest, but it certainly increases the risk.

Home Depot and other chain stores don't usually have corrugated tubing longer than 10', you might have luck with a plumber supply type place or a non-chain store.

Also, be sure to carefully read the page of instructions from the Pole Vault Summit! http://www.ucsspirit.com/about/preparing.cfm

The poles don't go to the hotel, they have to go to the Livestock Arena!

At home depot you will need to take longer pieces and use a collar to make the length of your poles.
I find pvc works well at schedule 200 the 100 does not work.
Here in TEXAS we do have Home depot with 20 foot corrugated drain and it has a smooth tube inside but corrugated outside, this is the best type!

And you do need to glue a cap on the back, we also use a screw type for the front!
Good Luck at the SUMMIT!
