I'm trying to learn more about pole vault and technique since 2013 is my first year pole vaulting. I am 15, 160lbs at 5"11 and my personal record is 12.6ft.I have been suck at this height for a while and there must be something missing in my vault. Here is a video of me on a 13.1 171lbs essx pole.

You are blocking with your left arm. Your left arm should bend enough post-takeoff to allow your left hand to move back over your head. Open the shoulder angle, and keep the arms up as you swing.

Also, don't throw your head back. You should watch your jump.

Austin,
12'6 is very respectable for your first year. Actually you are doing a lot of things right.
I would have you spread your hands farther apart and improve your approach run.
Eric is correct, do not throw your head back.It disorients you.
At practice try challenging yourself to hold a few fingers higher and use bigger poles.
I have a book you will like to learn technique.
See ya tomorrow.
