Now Hear Us!

These next two years will solidify the internet as the sphere for new public voice in our democratic discourse. NowHearUs is a solid expression of this zeitgeist.

NowHearUs puts the individual on the same playing field as interest groups and corporations.

Completely different from the way YouTube, MySpace, MSN etc. are designed; NowHearUs drives the focus to the power of ‘voices heard’. NowHearUs is giving birth to a context for direct public opinion, free from the traditional constraints of mass media.

We at NowHearUs represent a major leap forward. We have developed a game-changing architecture for a platform built as a cure for apathy and learned helplessness in civic engagement. This includes voter apathy and citizenship apathy and targets the helplessness that our system fosters in most members of society.

NowHearUs facilitates the first step: to give people a political internet environment that helps them assert themselves, and to become an active partner in the political process. NowHearUs is an antidote to powerlessness in the face of the political system: for participants, onlookers, and the ‘just curious’
who hear about the site. Everyone in the game can become involved and gain empowerment from this tool. Professional campaigns can take advantage of a new channel – and can learn tons about what the real public thinks, not just averages from poll takers but granular opinions and commentary. NowHearUs serves as an ear-to-the-ground tool.
