best jump by an unattached collegiate level athlete

Unread postby Branko720 » Thu Dec 04, 2008 11:47 pm

Hey, wasn't sure what forum to put this in, but I guess it is a historical question. Does anyone know the highest vault by a an athlete that never jumped for a college?

Probably a europeaner but it would be intreating to know how many college kids out there are jumping that went to schools without a vault team.. My teammate from highschool is giving it a try and he was like a 14,6 hit last year

He means Americans. Europeans have an entirely different club system and don't count.

not sure, but my search results yielded that he graduated in 2008, vaulted 16'10, and then went to university of Oklahoma...but he's not on the roster...{shrugs} hope this helps. -6P

mitch ended up transferring to Cuesta Community college in california. Never went to OU. i believe he has had some achilles problems for the last year so he wasn't really on the radar.

Jason Vogt's gotta up there on the list of athletes who never joined their school team. I think he ended up jumping 17'

Mitch is jumping for Purdue now. He just started jumping again this summer after achilles surgery.

Ah, well I hope he recovers. He was one of the best high school technicians I've ever seen. Tremendous potential. -6P
