Requiring a safety course for PV coaches?

Discussion about ways to make the sport safer and discussion of past injuries so we can learn how to avoid them in the future.

Our county (in Virginia) requires that we pass a test. It only took me 10 minutes to pass all three sections (safety, rules, technique), so it's not a big deal. In addition, if you enter a vaulter in a meet in our county a coach that has passed the test must be present. IMO, it's a good idea that takes alot of unneeded saftey concerns out of the event.

It would probably be a good rule for our state to adopt.

Interested to know which county in Va. and how long has it been required?
