Lets play a game here.

Watch the video.

Then post everything in the video that you see as 'unsafe' for high school pole vaulting.

-the guy sitting on the pits
-no coach is visible
-he's probably on a pole too big for him
-no standard covers
-looks like they're missing the pits that extend back by the runway
-the guy on the pits tries to catch the one falling

The pit is super close to the stands, and like 20 poles laying in the grass next to the pit doesn't look too safe.

Also gripping too high for his athleticism and technical abilities.

this video shows two very important things here

1) all the safety issues that are clearly evident and I think crayford hit most of them

-the guy sitting on the pits
-no coach is visible
-he's probably on a pole too big for him
-no standard covers
-looks like they're missing the pits that extend back by the runway
-the guy on the pits tries to catch the one falling

but just to add.. there were about 6 poles laying right beside where the athlete landed, there is no box collar, and there is asphalt all around the runway, there is only about a 4 foot gap between the mats and the stadium, and you can not see but there are metal plyrometric boxes behind that pit that an athlete has fallen off and hit before.

2) One video definitely does not tell you everything about a vaulter and can be very misleading. People have commented that the pole was too big and too high of grip for athletic ability and technique.
-This vaulter is actually me, two years ago. In the video I am gripping 12'6 on a 13' 155, but three days before i jumped 13'6 with a 14' 160.

Here are two pictures from Renaud -Lavillenie's website. They are just goofing around:

If this happened in USA, I think some lawyers will become rich and pole vault will be banned from T&F forever.
