Your happy when you break a pole cause you just got a new handle for your gig.

What's a gig?
[I mean, I know the definition of it being an event or such, but not something that needs a handle.]

It is like a spear used to stab fish, frogs, or whatever.

If you have ever used a piece of broken pole as a stake for tossing horseshoes.

If the seating and lighting accommodations for fans at your track meet involve tailgates and headlights.

If your bungee bar doubles as a clothes line.

If your pole has a Reagan-Bush '84 election sticker on it instead of a label.

There was a guy from my High School who went frog gigging in the middle of the night after having a few too many. He saw something moving under the water and gigged his own foot.

If you've ever used the broken end of the pole with the plug to play dizzy bat or variations involving baseball with a pole and a plug.

If you're having memory problems due to inhaling too many lighter fluid fumes from putting so much on your poles.

If you have ever hung catfish heads from your standards.

If you used your weather cover as a blanket for a cow that had fallen while giving birth.

If you thought you were never, ever going to get it clean enough to use again.

If your last road trip was featured on “True Stories of the Highway Patrol.”

If you use an old section of pit as a backstop for bow hunting practice.

If your favorite restaurant to take your team to is called “Elmer’s Dixie Dog Café and Bait Shop.” (The sign by the highway reads “Coors, Lures and Live Catfish.”)
