One is called sponge bob (it is blue and yellow. And i taped it to be that way......which was probably stupid because it made it like 5 pounds stiffer but what can ya do) because it was my safety blanket :o in a way-13 140 spirit. Then my spirit 13 150 is the wrangler because that pole is the s***. ;) and i love it!

It seems to be a tradition here at ESHS-S to name our poles we jump on. Last year there was this black pole that was named black death. It had no markings, no weight, and the pole looked pretty beat up. After districts I started jumping on it (it was a 13 foot pole) and started making 13' easily with it. Too bad I ended up putting it to death. :crying: The pole was used to set the school record back in '85. It's older than I am

This year we have such poles as
whizzmo - 110lb 11' white skypole
green lantern - 150? 12' green skypole
scraggles - 130? 13' old beatup ucs spirit

When I was in high school we had a 120 12' altius that we called the smurffer. I vaulted on a 11' 120 lady rocket my junior year that we called Barney then my senior year i got a 12' 125 and it was Barney number II. Now up in college I have a 13' 120 and yes it has carried on the name of Barney number III. I don't know what I will do if they ever change the color of the Lady Rockets!!!

dbulick wrote:I got a pole about 2 weeks before my district meet my junior year that my coach pawned off some other school. Well the thing was like a 15' 180 i think it was an altius. It had blue and white tape, but looked hideous since it was about 2,000 years old when we finally got it. Good ole blue tiger is what we named it. It was impossible to jump on the thing had no bend.

An Altius that didn't bend. THAT IS A FIRST!!!! My problems with Altius poles is that you don't know where they heck they are going to bend!
