I can't jump on a pole my weight rating
I was mixed up I wasn’t sure if this post should be in the equipment or technique area. Well it is both an equipment problem and a technique problem! So I posted it in both sections!!!
For those who have this problem here is info of value to help you.
You may be holding too high!
If you are holding higher than you vault you are not pole vaulting you are pole jumping.
Moving your grip down will make this too long of a pole stiffer?
You may even be on too long of a pole!!!

I'm constantly having a discussion about the benefits of gripping lower on a stiffer pole for more pole speed. Bob Slover has a good explanation of this on the newest NeoVault. It works every time.

In 1994 Borya Celentano, as an 18 year old jumped 17' 2 3/4" gripping 15' 10." Three years later he jumped 18' 6 1/2" gripping 15' 6" at Mt. Sac on a much bigger pole.

I just went through a similar deal where I moved up poles and moved the grip down 4â€Â
