The brand really doesn't matter for beginners.

Sky poles are designed for beginning and high school jumpers because of the way the bend is designed. Rockets are also good for beginners A good brand I pretty much live by is Altius Extreme Vaulting Poles out of Jacksonville TX. The top guys at Akron and SFA use their poles and they're also the cheapest out there. Even their top of the line Carbon poles are cheaper than some standard UCS or Pacers. You can find all of these brands at everythingtrackandfield.com/
But seriously go with Altius ;)

Any pole until they start getting a bend. Once they start bending the poles altius and skypoles are usually a lot easier to get into the mat with when compared to other brands with the same weight rating and length. This is beneficial when progressing to larger poles to build confidence and feel safer as opposed to feeling like your gonna be thrown back. Of course this is my personal opinion from my own experience.
