Spike Recomendations

Unread postby Gary_vaulter » Sun Nov 17, 2013 6:33 pm

So there is a nice long thread on "Spikes for Beginners" but I was hoping for some current recommendations on spikes (jumping shoes) for the experienced vaulter.

What spikes do you use that you LIKE? Is there a site that reviews spikes?

Thanks.

I recommend the Nike Zoom Triple Jump. This shoe is a lot more aggressive than the Nike Zoom Pole Vault and I think it keeps people in better sprinting mechanics.

I used to be a big fan of the Nike pole vault spikes, but noticed almost everyone wearing them will roll their heel and come off the ball of their feet when dropping the pole and planting. Those in the Nike Zoom Triple Jumps seem to be able to stay on the balls of their feet and be much more aggressive into the take off.
