Looking at buying Altuis poles?

Unread postby Dakmyr » Sat Apr 05, 2014 10:14 pm

I have never used Altuis poles but am looking at buying a few. Any thoughts or information on these poles would be great.

Altius poles of the same weight rating and length are usually less stiff than other brands such as pacer fx and spirit. They are also a little heavier. Great for moving up to a big pole since they make it easier to penetrate.

In my opinion they are much like a slightly stiffer skypole EZ

Altius poles are all we have used for the past 10 years and our kids have had a lot of success on them. I've been an Altius distributor for several years now. It's a great pole at a great price and now with the Carbon Extreme and the Carbon Elite series we offer a wide variety of options to compete with the other brands.

National indoor and outdoor high school records have been also been set on Altius.

After research and experience, we're looking to buy a bunch of Altius in 2015. Depends on fundraising, but we're hoping for 12 - 15 poles for an assortment of boys and girls we have. I really have liked them the most for very light vaulters.

I have read that there are at least at times "buy 4 get 1 free" deals. Is that so? Is there a secret code word or handshake for deals? LOL!

We are up here just south of St. Louis. I could perhaps put you in contact with our HC. PM me if it suits.

My vaulters have used Altius poles since the late 80's and now that's all I buy. You can call Jeff direct at 800-374-POLE and he will help you out. Like all sporting goods the list price isn't always what you pay if you buy several. I think they are great poles

We have been using Altius poles for about 5 years in our junior / senior high program. Planning to order more in the next few weeks. We have won 4 girls state championships, and set 2 state records (all girls). They are great poles for beginner valuters, lighter valuters, slower vaulters, and weaker vaulters as they bend significantly easier. I should note our poles are all shorter and lighter (mostly 12'4" and shorter) Great poles - highly recommend them!

They are great poles! I hear a lot of talk about using them for lighter vaulters and beginners. Of course they work for them as well, but Altius poles do the job for the more elite vaulters too! That's all we've used for several years now and my kids jump high on them:

Spencer McCorkel 17'09" on a 15'3" 190 Fiberglass Altius 2007
Stephanie Foreman 13'06.25" on a 13'9" 135 Fiberglass Altius 2008
Sam Ewing 17'01" on a 16'1" 190 Carbon Extreme 2010
Andrew Irwin 17'09.25" on a 16'1" 185 Carbon Extreme 2011
Lexi Weeks 14'00.5" on a 13'9" 150 Carbon Elite 2015
Tori Weeks 14'00.5" on a 13'9" 150 Caron Elite 2015

I'm pretty sure Demi Payne thinks they're good poles and she's no beginner, having broken the women's NCAA record on them 15'07". How about Shawn Barber 19'03"?
