Just wondering what some people might have in their backyard besides actual pits. I was thinking about putting in a swing bar since I don't have any room indoors.

swing bar? high bar?

I have two 'chin-up' bars for gymnastic related work-outs in our backyard (a pit, too). I use the term 'chin-up' bar because we haven't reinforced the bars with any guidewires, which would be a good idea if you were going to do some serious high-bar stuff, like giants and hip swings to handstands. I got two 10 foot x 4" plumbing pipe lengths, about a 4 foot length of 3/4" plumbing pipe and two elbows that would fit those sizes. The pipes are threaded on both ends and the elbows thread right on, easy and quick, no welding required. I've cemented the feet into the ground. Total cost was less than $50 each and after runing around and getting the parts took an hour to install. I have two because they were so cheap, one for taller guys and one for the shorter people.
