So they aren't even predicting Hooker to place? I know he's had a rough year, but man. Would like to see him take a medal, as well as Brad!

It will be rainy in both qualifications and final. 5.75 will be enough for gold.

If you have not logged on to Brads Facebook and seen his Jockrim jump, do it. 6.01 I know he hit the bar going down but look at the height over the bar

My Picks Are

GOLD-WALKER
Silver-Otto
Bronze-LAV

We've watched all the action this outdoor season, and we now have a grasp on all strengths. The players:

1) Brad Herbert Walker Bush - The dude has the tools and we all know it. He took the PV world for a few rides recently by putting his body 20' in the air in Chula and Jock Grim. I hope the boys who weren't at the Grim aren't social media fans, or else their computer chairs might just have some brown stains on them now. His 'fro is trimmed and he's ready to go.

2) Re-NO HE DIDNT Lavillenie - Well if he brings the special magnets that he brought for the bar ends and standards in Helsinki, he should be good. Some poor results lately in London and Poland. Maybe those 350 rep jump sessions are taking their toll on his ity-bity body. I don't like it. Also, in the rain, the only real contendor using chalk instead of glue will be in trouble.

3) Bjorn Otto've quit three years ago but didn't - And thank god. The German is a virtual lock over 570 under pressure in any conditions. Look for this dude to come burning around the corner and hang himself out over the box Nick Frawley style with confidence. In inconsistent conditions, you've gotta like his run and ability to take jumps up from takeoff spots that would break a high school girl.

4) Stevie Lewis and the News - his NR in Poland shows he's in great form, but will the rain in London break down his perfect hairdo, breaking his confidence? My money says that the local boy has a waterproof formula, and will be fine. He will have the hometown crowd behind him, but it's hard to really consider a man who's usually a 5.60-70 guy.

5) Steve Hookah - I venture to say that he has the best ever ratio of jumps completed to crossbars made this year. Has anyone seen the dude take one up and miss recently? I think he had one in Poland at 5.72, but that's it. If he decides to go, he's as good or better than anyone. Hard to bet on someone that will likely break your heart, though.

6) Filipidis - who cares

7) Holzdeppe - Great season so far. It seems his training in Siberia this fall and early winter has paid off. His 5.81 in "the grim" was a banger, and he has had some good diamond league meets. Can the fastest man in the field get it done?

8) Malte Mohr - great talent, but we have all seen how terrified he is to pole vault in bad weather. Another chalk man. I wouldn't bet on it.

9) LZB - Lord help everyone if the evening lines up for the man. While he wont have the boards below his feet, the springs will be alive and firing. He's had a rough season, but if Fidel's supporters decide to light up a Cubano and use it to light the fuse of this loose cannon, anything can happen. And always remember, in LZB we trust.

10) The Field - Can Derek and Jeremy pull off a midwest miracle and limp down to make the final and be in contention? Have any russians gone to the russian hills and timed the needle cycles up correctly like in 2008? Can Slow-Main Mesnil snake around a big bar? If so, will he do a naked victory lap with his pole? Can Alhaji Jeng find his form consistently and take a medal back to Sweden? The incentive of impressing Swedish women should be enough.

My prediction:

1) B Skywalker finds the force
2) The Bjorn Legacy rolls on for silver
3) Steve Hook-or-be-hooked puts his hands up for an unexpected bronze

And Renaud Lavillenie becomes Lavi-crybaby when he doesn't make the final.

STORM, OUT.
In LZB We Trust.

Out of Brad and Renaud whoever will manage their grips better and pull their standards closer than 80 I predict as the winner. IF either of them finds the right grip and pulls their standards in not only do I predict gold but also an OLYMPIC record.
