Barry Bonds

Unread postby powerplant42 » Sat Aug 04, 2007 10:44 am

Now, correct me if I'm wrong... Bonds cheated. Does anybody else think he has no business even thinking about comparing himself to Hank Aaron or Babe Ruth? It just ticks me off that he's about to reach a number that he doesn't deserve. He should've been sent back to 0 home runs in my opinion. Anybody share my views?

as of right now, he's equal stats wise, but with out the steroids, he was a first round hall of fame'r. now if he wouldn't have taken any of those, he would have reached it either way. he has an amazing swing, great strength before he started doping, and now that he's been cough, his record is almost meaningless. in the times of Aaron and Ruth, no one had ever considered of ever using any growth hormones in any way.. times have changed, and Bonds will be remembered as the guy that had to cheat to be the best.

the ironic thing is, that he still would have been the best with out the steroids...

Not so sure about that... Sure, he's better than most without the steroids, but definitely not the best ever. I'm sure that if he wasn't juicing and hitting so well, that he would've talked his way out of the MLB, seeing how much of a jerk he is. Example: Last year he hit a milestone home run. One of his fans caught the ball, and was invited to go get it signed. Bonds said that he wouldn't sign the ball, for no particular reason. He wouldn't even get his picture taken with the guy. Now, maybe he had carpel tunnel syndrome and had a migrane, I don't know... But I'm sure he'd have found a way to get kicked out of the league. He's like the T.O. of baseball. In fact, I'm surprised that they're not dating.

Heres my thing. Mr. Liar says that you can't teach hand-eye coordination, which I completely agree with.

However, that statement also makes you think about what would have happened if Tony Gwynn would have taken roids.

The record could be 900 if that were the case.

The damage is done, and hes never going to escape what he did. It might tick you off that he got the record, but EVERYONE knows he used roids, so he wont be glorified for it. And the next person to come around with 755 will be called the true record holder.

He never took steroids....he has never tested positive for anything....but the MLB doesnt' have a good test for Human Growth Hormone......that is more likely what he took. Steroids dont' cause your helmet size to grow......HGH causes bone growth i believe.

still illegal, still wrong

Im pretty sure new stuff is out every day that isnt necessarily detected by the tests. Didnt Bonds, Giambi, and Mcguire all say they took things but didnt know what it was, or something like that?

Correct me if im wrong, but ive also heard HGH is just as dangerous, if not MORE dangerous to take than steroids. It messes with your body in soo many different ways....

It's just a matter of how you use them. Athletes like to push everything to the extreme.
