Sounds like they'll have all the necessities covered. I'll be there!

This is the format it started in and I think you'll like it a lot. The Livestock Center is spacious with good access to all vaulters and pits. Not nearly so cramped. Can't wait!! Bubba

Here is what I had to say to my athletes: If you would rather be doing something else on Christmas break, maybe pole vaulting high is not a big enough priority in your lives to care.

Good point Tim. I tell my kids that if you aren't ready to PR at Reno then you are WAY behind for the rest of the year. Bubba

Its not always that simple. Sometimes kids really CANT afford to go right after christmas break, literally, because the flights are so jacked up. If they have a closer, cheaper meet to go to, it might be in the best interest of someone to go elsewhere. Regardless of their commitment to vaulting. I know kids who would die to vault any time of the year at any place, and its not fair to say they aren't commited enough because they wont spend 500+ compared to 100 for a meet.

That being said, of course, if you can go you should. But dont think you aren't committed enough if the cards dont fall in your favor.
The greater the challenge, the more glorious the triumph

Your point is well taken. When I lived in Southern California it was a 50 minute flight and no big deal. Since I've moved back home to Texas the logistics are more tricky for the kids and their parents. Good point. Bubba
