Re: Does the Russian model represent ideal technique?
Like a lot of other things, mentality does not just end with "mentality." It has numerous biopsychosocial components. The two most prominent will be the individual temperament which will be a reflection of a person's genetics. And the second will be the psychosocial component, how a perso...

Re: Does the Russian model represent ideal technique?
Take two athletes of equal athletic abilities and background. Give one to a coach who follows the technical model and another to a coach who does not. See which athlete jumps higher after a given period of time. Repeat until results are statistically significant. The athlete that is mentally strong...

Re: Steve Hooker
I once tried to switch from carbon poles to spirit due to lack of poles. From a short run it worked just fine, but from a long run I ran through every time. Tried it for about 6 months when I put carbons back in my hands I was able to take of again. Since the weight of the two different brands is so...

Re: How hard will this pole be to get on?
You should post video. If a 14ft pole is overbending even on a blow through you may need to work on you body position at take off before moving to the 15ft poles. Someone as tall as you a 14ft pole should never over bend as long as your not leaning back or sinking into the takeoff.

Usually only poles break that high if they have been kicked. Is it possible that the jump before that the pole hit the standard.

Re: Pole vault workouts for 1 year
In April - on Tuesday it is recommended that the athlete runs 5x 150 at 95% intensity and in May 3 x 150 at 100% intensity. Not only will these sessions take an inordinately long time to complete -that is if they are to include the recovery periods necessary to repeat the runs at the intensity requ...

Re: Plant help on 5 left steps
Before you get a bunch of people telling you the evils of bottom arm pressure thought I would give a quick post. The focus should not be on the bottom arm getting fiber faced is no big deal as long as you get your hands all the way up at take off. Bending and rolling the pole over is dependent on sp...

Re: Please Review
First of all I would like to say I thinking you are jumping very well. There are a couple things I believe you need to focus more then the others. The biggest thing is you throw your head this causes you to lean back at take off bending the pole to early and to much and making it difficult to get in...
