[list]...However, Saturday’s star performance for Wisconsin came from pole vaulter Blair Luethmers.

Heading into the meet, Luethmers was worried over the fact that she had to vault first, a position she really isn’t comfortable with as she is then forced to set the standards for herself and the other 19 participants.

Warm-ups didn’t help her anxiety, either, as she felt she was rather sub-par with her run-throughs.

[list]...Luethmers won the pole vault, tying the Big Ten meet record and breaking her own UW mark. The sophomore from Park Falls, Wis., was the only athlete to clear 13 feet, 1 ¾ inches to tie the meet record set by Purdue’s Ebbie Metzinger in 2002. Luethmers was near perfect though out the competition, clearing her first five heights on her first attempt. She attempted a building record of 13-5 ¼ after having clinched the Big Ten title but missed all three attempts.

“It was awesome (to win at home),â€Â
