I'm so confused with how this works! how is 3.81 the cut off for Nationals??

the girls that jumped 3.80 will not go to nationals. They are at the bottom of the at large pool. Everyone that placed between 6th and 12th in each region was placed in the at large pool. Out of that pool of vaulters, they will most likely bring the five or six (is there a definite number on this?) of the vaulters with the highest PR's in the at large pool to NCAA's. The vaulters that placed 1-5 at regionals are automatically qualified for NCAA's. that makes 20 that have made it automatically and 5 or 6 that will make it from the at large pool.
