Bryant Wilson (Grand Valley State) clears 5.50

In an outstanding pole vault competition at the GLIAC conference meet held at Hillsdale College May1, Grand Valley State senior Bryant Wilson cleared 5.50 meters to win the event. Ashland's Dan Tierney and Wilson both cleared 5.05, 5.20, and 5.35 to ellipse the Gliac outdoor record of 17' 4.5 " held by Clark Lozier (Ashland 1996). Three other vaulters cleared 4.90 at the meet. Tierney is the 2009 Indoor National DII vault champion and Wilson has won two indoor championships and two outdoor championships in DII.
