Indoors Upon Us

Unread postby uconnvaulta » Tue Nov 22, 2005 2:02 pm

It is now getting close and i know i cant wait for my first indoor meet. Is everyone ready for this indoor season, has everyone been training harder this year, been running faster, and are you going to jump higher this season.
Where is everyone looking forward to compete.

I know that this year i have lost ten pounds, gotten so much faster. raised all my maxes by atleast 20 pounds in each lift. and still havent gotten back to my full run but im poppin over some big bars ( you will have to wait and see the heights)

My season starts Jan 7th at a home meet for me, How bout anyone else?

some of my vaulters are kindof ready, some are not..
i got a freshman that last year in HS she was on a 13' 130 and often gettin' her butt kicked by it, now she's rollin' over a 13'7" 155 and we're gonna need to buy some bigger poles.. she's gonna be scarey.. who knows what kids are gonna do in early dec..
all in all, i'm stoked for the season

I just switched back to pushing the pole. I think I need a few more practices until I am ready for a meet. I might jump unattached at Carbondale if Daniel goes, but I am not eligible until January anyway.

my preason has been interesting to say the least..... first meet is in about 9 days, but im not going full run. but come mid january... we shall see how this new training philosophy is paying off. Its always risky changing coaches, and trying to systems, but, i figure im going for broke. Last year gotta just go for it. i will say this, from 6 lefts i used a 5.00m 195 holding about 15'5 (although i was a bit shallow)

Brian, am I reading this right, that you have changed coaches? Maybe I misunderstood your statement

same technical coach

bob phillips still handles all of my vaulting, gymnastics, and technical work
lawrence johson (of Southern Illinois, not PV LoJO) has handled all of my running workouts, and they have been intense to say the least
and I have done some research and have started writing my lifting workouts.
