Coaching Conflicts

Unread postby LoZart » Wed Feb 13, 2008 11:51 am

I have not been coaching long, but can input some advice which was shared with me by a coach who has placed over 20 athletes on the US olympic team.

"Coaches should not interfere with the training of athletes that aren't their own. I have seen athletes with poor coaching perform beyond expectations because they believe in a coach or system. Likewise, I have seen athletes with great coaches, perform poorly because they are listening to, or recieving too much input from people who arent their coach." - CF

I have also witnessed CF share this philosphy with parents who coache their childre. He is very adamant in explaining that the kids in his system are under his coaching authority and should not recieve input from others.
