Let's spice this one up a bit. We're pole vaulters so a lot of us probably have good foreward roll stories. Here's mine:

Doing Trampoline work, my turn ending, I decide to exit the tramp by leaping over to the foam mats several yards away. Unfortunately I was wearing socks and the mat got very steep on the edge when I tried to jump from it.

As you might guess my feet slipped and I found myself flat-out and about eight feet in the air with nothin but wrestling mats underneath. All the diving over furniture as a kid really paid off. I was able to tuck and roll right out of it.

I popped up and looked over at my coach (Greg Hull, btw). When he saw I was alright he just dropped his head and started shaking it. I still smile when I think about that one.

My parachute once failed on a base jumping workout. So as i approached the concrete below i gathered my posture and rolled out of it as soon as i hit the ground. When my coach saw i was ok, he just dropped his head and shook it. If it werent for super human leg strength and new Asics Gel Kayanos, i surely would have parished. I still smile and think "good times" everytime i recall that story...

I just don't get why you're making fun of me...

I also don't get why I think you're kind of funny...

I'm not offended, I'm amused. But, I'm also wondering if my post is stupid or something and I'm just not aware of it.
