Sorry for the hijack, Adam, but sometimes a thread takes on a life of it's own.

Guys, trust the 42 yr old on this one. The "nice" compliments are more comfortable for females in more situations, but, deep down, the majority of women want to be hot.

If your in a checkout line and you say to a girl ahead of you "wow, you've got extrodinary eyes" she will be flattered and take it pretty well and that will be that.

On the otherhand if you say "Damn, girl, you are smokin' hot". She will be caught off guard and most likely a little freaked out, but, when she gets safely in her car, she will think to herself "Oh yeah, I'm HOT". It's a compliment that speaks straight to the essence of her womanhood.

If it's your girl friend, and the comfort factor is already there, tell her she's hot!

I thought picking up chicks was a subset of the skills required for vaulting, so I find his post completely appropriate... ;)

And, for the girl vaulters being hot seems to be a subset of skills required for vaulting. I've hardly seen a girl vaulter who wasn't at least cute.

Not from me and Jessie it won't. We both feel strongly that proper grammar is the way to a girl's heart :rose:

I'm so happy I could start this philosophical discussion about hot girls and pole vaulting

ok....I cliked on the topic, read the orignal post...and wondered how this thread go to page three, so I took a look.

and I must say that I was expecting something about gymnastics...but...yeah

I was a bit confused

by the way...I agree that there is a big difference in telling a woman that they are hot... I prefer to use much more colorful words like beautiful, amazing, wonderful, elegant, lovely, gorgeous, magnificent, or saying something to the effect of "that dress is very falttering"
