So D.J., I just went back and read your posts.
So what you were saying was that taking off out does not necessarily make it a "free takeoff" or at least a proper takeoff? There are many other factors involved such as an increase in cadence, and penultimate step, an upward impulse, driving the pole up, etc that make a takeoff "free". In Otto Bjorn's case he was a bit under, but he was able to do all the other things making his takeoff still good despite the amount he was under.
On the other hand, the girl had an outside takeoff, but she didn't have an upward impulse and didn't drive the pole upward?
Is this correct? Or do I have it all wrong?
