Unread postby Scott Go Pre » Mon Jan 24, 2005 3:42 am

For everyone that went to Reno:

What was the most horrific or funniest accident that you witnessed at Reno this year?

If you got injuried yourself tell what happened to you!

a guy on saturday night on pit 5 somehow got his pole to hit the ceiling. but all i saw was the pole coming back down and him lying on the front of the pit.
I only saw one pole break. and Kinan King in the elite comp had that pretty nice flip, I dont know how to spell his name.

i wasn't there this year, but in 2002. I had the misfortune of witnessing a kid dislocate his elbow when he got his feet caught up on the crossbar on a bail out and landed with his arm straight out trying to break his fall. I heard a dull snap and saw him roll over, with his forearm trail behind the rest of his arm. pretty sick.

There is a good lesson to learn out of this. NEVER put your hands out when falling into the mats. ALWAYS try to land on your back with your arms away from the mats. You're only asking for an injury if you do.

That was me, I was the one wearing the helmet and the "unattached" shirt. I also got the "Clap" on my third attempt at 15'1".

Ok, educate me now, Scott, what is the "clap"? I'm not even going to tell you what's running through my mind right now,(being a former traveling rock n' roll band guy, and everything). Later..........Mike

Mike, the clap is when the crowd claps in sync with the vaulters run. It supposively helps the vaulter do better.
