You can participate alone
you do not need a helmet
you do not need a certified coach
as of yesterday you do not need a permit
you do not need a landing pit

They still are semi-automatic assault weapons. Full auto is still illeagl. But yes, people owning three round burst AKs and M4s is not a pleasant idea.

i mean if they really wanted them to use illegally, im sure they had already obtained them illegally...so im not really worried about it

ok, i'm going to say that banning assault weapons to begin with was a PR stunt by congress, and here's why:

if you look at how they define "assault weapon," it, first off, includes a list of weapons that look like military weapons, then they say that this semiautomatic assault weapons can't have any of the following: the ability to accept a detachable magazine, a folding or telescoping stock, a threaded barrel, a pistol grip, a forward grip, or a barrel shroud.

what's interesting to me about this legislation is that it basically just deals the way the aesthetics of the weapon. it didn't ban weapons which fire the same ammunition as an AK's and Thompson's for instance; and because of that gun manufacturers started to manufacture the same guns they had been manufacturing, minus the illegal pieces. Functionally speaking, "assault weapons" have never left the legal market.
