PoleVaultPower: the Movie

Unread postby lonestar » Fri Aug 22, 2003 10:01 pm

Hypothetically, if one were to take the various dramatic threads on here and make a movie out of it, what actors would best fit the roles of each member on the site?

This doesn't have to be based on looks, but more of what actor would best personify each member?

A couple choices:

rainbowgirl28: Angelina Jolie (she's a badass, like Becca ;) )
pvjunkie: Jack Lemmon (grumpy old man)
essx: Walter Matthau (another grumpy old man)
swtvault: Dolph Lundgren - played Ivan Drago in Rocky IV
belmore: Billy Bob Thornton (not the Slingblade character)
Robert Schmitt: Vin Diesel (keeps it real!)
Oakpv2004: Jared Leto (based on his portrayal of Prefontaine)
Decamouse: the guy who played Lewis Skolnick in Revenge of the Nerds (only because of the engineer factor Jeff!)

Lets hear some others!

Ya know Kris..........your really not that much younger than I am..........and it wont take long for the grumpiness to set in..........life takes its toll.........the more your around people (at least that 8 - 10%) the more bitter you get. BUT in turn the more thankful you are when you get to interact with the other 90 - 92%. Just like I was told back in my devildog days............there is ALWAYS 10%.........apply that to ALMOST anything and see how it fits.

Wow this is a tough one... PVJunkie already takes after 2 movie characters... one is the Wookie from Star Wars... the other I am not supposed to say on here, but everyone who was at Indy knows what I am talking about ;)

Didn't Skolnick get the hot girl in one of those movies - plus help develop the flex javelin - just think another sequel to the Grumpier Old men movies - what would the title be - Grumpier vaulters! The final agreement!
Becca Croft and the Tomb Vault - who gets to play lonestar - Chuck Norris - I prefer Clint - or the guy with the handlebar mustache - name alludes me -

If you're referring to Sam Elliot, now that would be cool - he played Patrick Swayze's mentor in RoadHouse. Real laid-back low-key tough guy - that's me SOME of the time.

More than likely though I'd have to be played by someone like Joe Pesci though, because of my tendency to take things personally and overreact!

ok smokin - who should play you and why - how about a young John Wayne - soory - may be to dated - but tall - lanky pole vaulter type - or how about Hans Solo in the first Start Wars - then you could tell the wookie what to do - heh heh

LOL Hey chewy kill that Spirit, but I could be done by James Dean who was a pole vaulter in High School, oh wait he deads. I really think Eminem could play me to, all he has to do is walk around and say how much he hates spirits LOL, The Indy chapter would be awesome.

I didn't do the casting! I don't watch enough TV/Movies to do that type of thing :P
