Gymnast returns for love of the sport

Women’s gymnastics
Originally, it was supposed to be just a visit to see friends. Having moved from gymnastics to pole vaulting one year before, Jana Komrsková went to a gym in Prague’s Hrad?any district to see some of her former colleagues and friends in July.

Gymnast Jana Komrsková tried other sports but didn’t like them
She intended to do no more than chat.

After a while, however, the former Olympic gymnast realized she couldn’t just stand and watch her friends practice.

“I was suddenly tempted to see what I could still do,â€Â

how do you lose power in your arms from vaulting?!

I think that I've gained upper body strength since I quit (after 12 years)!

I don't think that vaulting makes you lose power in your arms.

Age and muscular maturity play major roles in accomplishing overall strength. Power only comes through using that particular strength through a specific range of motion.

I'm not doubting that Komrskova lost power in her gymnastic disciplines. She was probably not doing that specific training during her brief pole vaulting career.
