FRUSTRATED!!!

Unread postby scubastevesgirly » Thu Dec 15, 2005 11:59 pm

okay..so i'm really frustrated right now, and I just need to get it out to ppl. who might understand...
We had our 1st meet this past sat. and I successfully cleared my PR from my 1st year of vaulting...going 1ft. lower than what I did at the street vault in September where i hadn't touched a pole at all for about 4 months beforehand.

Granted, we've only had a total of 4 PV practices...but the fact that my final height was lower than my lowest height ALL last year.

At least I didn't knock the bar down, I guess....i just wend up and came straight back down on all of them....EW!

Does anybody else ever feel like this??

i can kinda relate to that from what happened during the summer. end of june i jumped 14 in a practice (without jumping for a month) and then about 1 week n a half later in a meet i was only able to get 11'6". It's very frustrating, but gotta keep yer head up :D

it also might have been cause of the 110º weather that day in Cambridge.

I think we've all felt that way at all levels of jumping. Early in the year the biggest thing missing is consistency and that will come. I tend to have a lot of those, "oh yea, I should've done that" moments where I remember something that worked (or didn't) from the year before. It will come back to you in no time. Focus on the fundamentals and make it fun. I'm sure you will have a great year!! Bubba
