Pole Help

Unread postby ozman204 » Tue May 01, 2012 9:25 pm

Im pretty new to pole vaulting and at my local high school there are is only one pole that i can use and that is a 12' PacerFX with a weight of 120
The problem is I am a little bit heavier then 120 pounds i weigh right around 125 and I know a person is not to use a pole under his weight but the next option is a 13'6" PacerFX at 150. This would be a very big leap to make and my HS will not buy any new poles. What should I do, stay on the 120 or move up to the 150.

you should have your school ( or do it yourself) find a local Pole Vault Pole Rental Company. Many private pole vault clubs and Private coaches rent poles for a season at a time and they usually provide the ability to trade poles for next pole up as ypu progress.

rentpoles.com
shealyathletics.com
vaulthouse.com
bellathletics.com has a buy and trade program that is very interesting

good luck !!!
